Online Degrees – Learn at Your Own Pace

Getting an online degree couldn’t be easier, and there are many that are the best college online campuses, according to the students who attend, is the one belonging to major American colleges  You don’t actually have to live there, or even near there for that matter, to earn an online, accredited degree, one of 19 different accredited college degrees that they offer. Depending on what you are interested in, you could be studying for an English, history, law, mathematics, psychology, science, sociology or any of the many other accredited degrees. Alternately, you can from some of the 600 fully accredited online courses.

Once you have applied for an online campus and have been accepted, you study at your own pace. What this means, is that you will be given a syllabus of work you will perform. You will have weekly deadlines for work, and will participate in a discussion forum with your professors and fellow students in order to experience a somewhat “live classroom” feel to your online education. This is really neat, because you can do it any time of the day or night, whether people are around or not. It’s really easy and simple, although the work will definitely be work, as most online colleges are an accredited college.

Taking exams are normally at the discretion of each professor, as far as the method. Some are proctored by individuals approved to do so, while others are given in different ways. In every case, monitoring is required to assure that each student is answering questions that he or she have learned, during their studies on a specific subject. Students are allowed to study for exams during a specific time period, in order to pass the exams more effectively.

Some online colleges have a very strict procedure, when it comes to plagiarism, and its zero tolerance for this is constantly reinforced for every student, mostly with regard to certain papers that need to be created for tasks.  Students are graded not only on content and form, but also important items such as including a bibliography, title page, and ensuring that the paper has very little, if any, spelling and/or grammar errors.  If a paper does not meet the rubric it is measured against, it will be returned, so paying attention to the rubric is very important, just as much as the assignment of the paper itself is.

Books may be purchased for courses at Columbia, however some books may be available online for reading. It depends on the course and instructor, however, so not every class will offer this convenience.  Every student has at least three chances to send in good quality work, before there is any discipline. As long as every paper submitted after the first is an improvement, there are no consequences, thus a grade is given, once the paper passes for spelling and/or grammar errors. This is a very generous offering, indeed.

If you are thinking of an online education, consider an online campus that has a great reputation. They are a very good, accredited schools with much to offer in college degrees.

I like that there are many different degrees that you can choose from. To work at your own pace is great. That allows you to do it when it is convenient, day or night.
